In June 2012, Front Range submitted the final version of the Pleasant Hill (Towner) Bus Tragedy Survey Plan to the Kiowa County Historic Preservation Commission. The project, funded by a Certified Local Government grant from History Colorado, identified and recommended survey priorities for historic resources associated with the 1931 blizzard that claimed the lives of a school bus driver and five students.
