National Register of Historic Places Nominations
The National Park Service website notes: "The National Register of Historic Places is the official list of the Nation's historic places worthy of preservation. Authorized by the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, the National Park Service's National Register of Historic Places is part of a national program to coordinate and support public and private efforts to identify, evaluate, and protect America's historic and archeological resources."
Resources may be listed on the National Register individually or as historic districts (collections of buildings sharing historical associations). Multiple Property Documentation Forms (MPDF) may also be prepared. An MPDF "is a cover document and not a nomination in its own right, but serves as a basis for evaluating the National Register eligibility of related properties. It may be used to nominate and register thematically-related historic properties simultaneously or to establish the registration requirements for properties that may be nominated in the future." Front Range prepares all three types of National Register documents. Past projects are discussed below.
