The Denver Civic Center, the city's first National Historic Landmark, will be dedicated on April 10th in a ceremony at the Greek Theater. Front Range staff will present a tour of the City Beautiful-era masterpiece as part of Doors Open Denver at 10:30am, Sunday, April 14. Tour day registration is necessary to attend. The Colorado State Review Board will consider seven Kiowa County nominations prepared by Front Range at its May 17 meeting in Denver. National Register nominations include the Eads School Gymnasium, Eads Community Church, Crow-Hightower House, and the Hotel Holly/Haswell Hotel. State Register properties are the Jackson Barn, Sheridan Lake School, and Haswell Missouri Pacific Depot. The Wyoming State Review Board unanimously approved the nomination of the Snow Train Rolling Stock Historic District on 7 February 2013. The five-piece ensemble in Laramie's Railroad Heritage Park includes this 1952 Union Pacific CA-5 caboose. The nomination has been forwarded for review by the National Park Service in Washington. |
