![]() In November 2011, Front Range staff presented three National Historic Landmark nominations to the Landmarks Committee of the National Park System Advisory Board in Washington: Trujillo Homesteads, Alamosa County, Colorado; the Poston I School complex at the former Colorado River Relocation Center (Poston), La Paz County, Arizona; and San Jose de los Jemez Mission and Giusewa Pueblo, Sandoval County, New Mexico (see historic view). The Landmarks Committee unanimously recommended that all three nominations be forwarded to the Advisory Board. The Trujillo and San Jose nominations, which were fast-tracked as part of the American Latino Initiative, were approved by the Advisory Board in early December and forwarded to Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar for action. The Colorado River Relocation Center will be considered by the Advisory Board in May 2012.
